CustomsWare - Customs, middle, ware

CustomsWare is a radical departure from legacy customs software solutions. Not just customs software for specific procedures, CustomsWare is a framework for solving any customs software need. It provides businesses with the software tools to meet their customs challenges with confidence and to exploit emerging opportunities. CustomsWare is adaptable to meet the demands and imperatives of different business types:

  • Exporters
  • Customs brokers
  • Freight forwarders
  • Logistics service providers

All these businesses and more can use CustomsWare 'out of the box' or configure it to work with their unique software, processes, procedures and customers. Evolving changes by national customs authorities present opportunities to business, as well as undoubted challenges. CustomsWare provides businesses with the software tools to meet their customs challenges with confidence and to exploit emerging opportunities.

Management of all customs declaration filing on one platform delivers operational efficiency and financial management benefits to organisations of all sizes, providing an overview of your day-to-day customs activities and making it easy to integrate and manage the interfaces between customs authorities and regimes, and your business systems. CustomsWare provides proven integration tools that can deliver customs data to your duty management, landed cost or other business management systems.

Integration

The pace of customs regulatory change is driving customs software change. For many software developers, a single customs message implementation project is often not economic and multiple message implementations represent a real maintenance and support headache. CustomsWare is the alternative approach that protects the IPR in your business software while delivering industry-leading customs functionality, immediately and with no maintenance implications.

Long experience of systems integration meant that CustomsWare was intended from its inception to integrate with other systems and has resulted in a proven API and supporting webservices. These mechanisms are ued today by vendors in trade management, warehouse management, ERP, contract logistics and other application areas. Abstracting away the complexity of customs filing compliance and its associated messaging liberates our partners' product development teams to focus on adding value to their core capability. 'Simplify and add CustomsWare', as Colin Chapman almost said.

CustomsWare can exchange messages in a variety of common formats (EDI X12, XML, CSV) and protocols (AS2, HTTPS, FTP, etc.). All message transaction details are stored within the system and remain available for user review and reporting.

Our business is supporting and keeping current with all customs regimes in our markets. What's yours?

CustomsWare Messenger

An essential function of CustomsWare is data communication with national customs systems. CustomsWare's modular design means that this function is implemented by a dedicated communications layer, CustomsWare Messenger. For those organisations whose software systems can generate customs declaration messages and process the associated reply messages, CustomsWare Messenger is a cost-effective solution to the challenges of developing, implementing and supporting data communications connections to multiple customs authorities, customs procedures, or both.

CustomsWare Messenger supports the following protocols:

  • FTP
  • SFTP
  • HTTP
  • HTTPS
  • FTAM
  • AS2
  • SMTP
  • X.400
  • Digital certificates

Warehousing

Customs or bonded warehousing has become an integral part of the control process for customs authorities. Recent UCC changes to goods valuation has again emphasised the need to maintain complete, accurate, robust and auditable records of all activity into, out of and within your bonded warehouse(s). Bonded warehousing in CustomsWare can be operated stand-alone as a point solution, can be integrated with physical or other warehousing systems and can be seamlessly integrated with customs declaration filing.

Delivery management

Once released from bond, and eventually from the physical warehouse, the goods will often need to be delivered onwards. The CustomsWare process extends to planning, tracking and managing the process to the point of delivery, including returns, completing the customs audit trail.

Technology

CustomsWare is a comprehensive suite of web services that deliver all the customs functionality required by businesses today. CustomsWare implements and is consistent with the WCO Customs Data Model. This has real advantages for integration with other systems and ensures that CustomsWare will remain in step with future WCO and EU initiatives and standards.

Built on Microsoft's .NET framework, CustomsWare is highly scalable and supports industrial transaction volumes. The CustomsWare architecture also supports workflow, event management, and integration with external systems using XML and SOAP.

Our web services have been designed from the ground up to be multi-jurisdiction, multi-regime, multi-company, multi-user and multi-currency. Our many years of experience also mean that CustomsWare has been architected for scalability, configurability, reliability and maintainability.
